WSLN REGISTRATION!!!

AEYC Leaders... Registration is finally open!!!  It's all digital, so you can complete it anytime online.  Keep in mind that the earlier you register, the cheaper it will be.  After April 15th, it will cost $525 and after May 15th it will cost $550.  Registration will close after June 15th as well.

Follow the link to begin your registration!!

Don't forget to book your flights for arrival at or before 2:30pm so that you have some time to explore downtown Reno and make it to Zephyr Point promptly for dinner.  (If you are driving, there are directions on the first page of registration, please make sure you arrive to Zephyr Point by 5:00pm).  Please arrange your departure flights to leave at 3:00pm or any time after.  That way you will have enough time after the conclusion of the event (12:00pm) for us to transport you to the airport.

If you would like to arrive earlier than Monday or stay after the event concludes on Friday, please let us know so we can help you make arrangements for lodging and transportation (mind you, any extra time you choose to spend in the Reno/Tahoe area is on your own and we can only provide information to assist you).

Keep an eye out on the blog for further information regarding the event: what to bring, what to expect, etc...

Less than four months to go!!

Mark Your Calendars! WSLN Dates and Times

This year the Western States Leadership Network will be held from Monday, July 15th through Friday, July 19th.  We realize that Monday through Friday is switching it up, but here's our logic:
  • Most of us have to take the whole week off to attend anyway (give or take a Monday).
  • This allows for attendees to arrive the weekend prior if they choose or to extend their trip throughout the following weekend.
    • While we will only officially provide lodging and transportation on the arrival and departure days, please let us know if you choose to arrive early or continue your stay.  We are more then happy to help you secure your accommodations!
  • Call us crazy, but it just made more sense to us to make it during the week.  :)
With that said, we would also like to let you know that our location is at least a one hour drive from the Reno Tahoe Airport.  In order to begin, and end, on time, we are asking that everyone plan their flights accordingly.  Here is what we are requiring:
  • Your flight should arrive at or before 2:30PM (Pacific Time) at the latest on Monday, July 15th.
  • Your departure flight should leave after 3:00PM and before 9:00PM (Pacific Time) on Friday, July 19th.
  • The Reno/Tahoe Airport is typically a very easy place to get through, so don't stress about that.
    • I've made it to my gate from the drop off zone in 5 minutes...seriously!
I know those times may seem extreme, but in order to keep to our schedule it will be easiest to have as many people follow this as possible.  If you are having any issues fitting into this, please let us know, we are willing to work with you.  Nevertheless, if you choose to arrive the weekend before or depart during the weekend after, please let us know that information as well, that way we will be able to assist you in obtaining your accommodations.  If you are driving, please let us know what information you require.

Please don't hesitate if you have any comments or questions!  You can contact us by posting on our blog, emailing us: renoaeyc@gmail.com, or through our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/RenoAEYC

We all hope your first week of Two Thousand Thirteen has been wonderful!!

2013 Is Around the Corner And WSLN Will Be Here Before You Know It!

Hello there future WSLN Attendees.  For those of you who have previously attended, we can't wait to tell you what is in store for next year.  For those of you who are like...  "Umm, what's a WSLN and why do I need to know about it??"  Well, keep reading.

WSLN stands for Western States Leadership Network and it will be hosted in Zephyr Cove, Nevada right on the shore of lovely Lake Tahoe (which we share with Sunny California).  Nevertheless, this networking event will event will occur on the Nevada side.

We will have further information in the coming months.  We are excitedly getting all of the details together.  Mark your calendars for July 15th-19th, 2013.  The theme is Collaboration Camp-out.  It's a week of learning how to collaborate with others from our colleagues to those outside of the early childhood field.  I hope you are all excited to learn some great new leadership skills.

A few housekeeping items to attend to.  While we haven't set up the registration yet, we want to remind you (as the old saying goes "the early bird gets the worm") to really be thinking about who will attend and the sooner you make that decision, the more money you can save.  You already know the dates, so a piece of advice:  In order to get the cheapest flights available, many studies have found that you should book a minimum of three months in advance and do your booking on Tuesdays around 3pm Eastern Time.  We will be posting reminders as well as some of the preferences and stipulations that the WSLN 2013 planning committee will have regarding your travel arrangements.

We are very excited to be hosting this year and we hope you are just as excited to attend!  Please feel free to contact us at any time with questions or concerns.  You can post messages on here or email directly to us.  Our email is renoaeyc@gmail.com.  You can also look us up on Facebook: www.facebook.com/RenoAEYC

Enjoy your holiday and have a Happy New Year!  We will update you with some more information in the new year!
